LUCAN
1970s Mid-Terrace Renovation & Retrofit
A full renovation and One Stop Shop retrofit of a 1970s mid-terrace home in Lucan, delivered through the SEAI One Stop Shop pathway to improve energy performance, comfort and layout.
Because the house sits mid-terrace, the fabric upgrade was carried out from the inside. Internal wall insulation does the same job as an external system without altering the frontage or breaking the line of the terrace — the right answer for a house in the middle of a row.
Result: BER improved from F to A2.
Layout & interiors
The internal layout was reworked: the kitchen now sits to the rear overlooking the garden, and the sitting room was moved to the front. Upstairs, the internal walls were removed and rebuilt, and the entire floor replastered.
A full rewire and replumb were completed as part of the renovation.
